| This is the answer from Cyan and a copy of the original email, as posted by Nighthawk at the MOUL forums.

Hello,
I'm hoping that Riven will be available by early summer at the latest. Uru Live, maybe within a month. Watch the Myst online website for updates. the rest of the Myst series get complicated fast due to technology issues and rights licensing. Not sure those will make it.
Thanks for you continued support.

Hello, I am wondering if you have an ETA for Riven for iPhone and Uru Live. I know that Uru Live is supposed to come back online this year, but I am wondering if you know any more than that. I would also like to know if you have any plans for the rest of the Myst series to be converted so that it runs on the iPhone. I have heard that one of the problems that you have been having with Riven is that the game is too large for the App store. Have you thought about posting Riven as a free game, and then allowing people to buy the full game as an expansion pack through in-app purchases?

| Yah, and when it happens you'll be sitting there staring at the screen saying "I don't believe it." "I just can't believe it." | |

| I didn't think I'd like SL at all either. But now I'm involved, I love it. Many nice people in it. | |

| Just in case no one remembers VL....
Victor Laxman (born: 14th June, 1958) received multiple Engineering Degrees from the University of Cambridge before joining the Royal Navy from 1978 to 1990. Victor first learned of the restoration efforts from Dr. Watson in early 1995 before joining the DRC from 1997 to 2004. After Dr. Watson left the DRC in 2004, Victor also became co-leader of the group until it disbanded due to a lack of funding. In December of 2005, Victor Laxman first approached the other DRC members about restarting the restoration efforts and joined the DRC once more in 2006. Unlike the other DRC members, Victor doesn't oversee any particular phase but is instead in charge of all aspects of restoring D'ni technology and in particular translating D'ni technology to English and making it work with human technology. Victor has heavily worked on the KI and related technologies, such as the Nexus and the Lattice.

| I thought the DRC was pretty much dead, if we go open source how relevant will they be when people can make there own story lines. Unless..Cyan plans hosting a shard that is cannon? | |

| I believe the term Uru Live may have been used generically, so it may still be open source. Even if it is, who knows about the DRC. I wouldn't put it past Cyan to have a few people hook up and still take part in the story line with the players. Whether or not that would involve keeping the DRC around, I don't know. Their headquarters is still on Google Maps, so maybe they're not dead after all. | |

| So are a lot of others. If so, it better work for the iPod Touch just like other apps too or I'll be upset. We don't have iPhone service here.
I hope they're not talking iPhone though. Not that I would blame Cyan for taking a publishing deal if it was offered.

| IC: Oh yeah...Elpis acted a little worried when I told her about Victor's post. I don't think she knew he had sensors in the cavern. Friends of the Fissure secret that they have a renegade Relto book may be out. | |

| No, that was Marie...
I, like some, hope this storyline start up means that they were able to publish UruLive. If it's open source, I may be a few months late getting in. I'll have to rely on others to keep me in the loop if it's open source.
Thinking of getting an estimate to really ramp up my laptop to handle all the business stuff and make this one all gaming.

| Sure hope it wasn't one of our FoF groups with the secret Relto book.
I don't want them taking that away from us!

| I'm not sure how the open source code works, but if they really did sign in and visited Pelishard, maybe they're testing how it allows you to connect with the fan created Ages too.
Today's postings on the thread make me think it's Open Source. Marie's use of "we're just explorers" and her comments on how much of a relief it is to not worry about fixing stuff, and how they don't have funding still make me think it's Open Source that they're testing.
Plus RAWA's comment on how ironic that the explorers have to rely on Yeesha's books more.
Good to see that there's a bahro sighting though. Whoo hoo! I miss my bahro.
