| We were caught in the middle of the 2009 Christmas Blizzard area, so a lot of Christmas plans all around were postponed. Thankfully, our daughter's family made it here before it got bad. We got to have Christmas Eve breakfast and supper with them. Then they were at her hubby's parents, about 1/2 mile from our house, for the rest of the time. We couldn't see her again until Sunday night when they were finally able to open the roads back up and let them go home. She was going to stay a few extra nights, but decided not to so she could follow her hubby home and be rescued if anything went wrong. This is our first year celebrating "alone". Being isolated and snowed in your house for days on end made it even more strange. I tried checking in at Second Life numerous times. Saw a few people I recognized, but not ones I knew well enough to yell at and say hello. Should really fix that and make new friends. Being in the cavern really helped, but I didn't stay long. All through we were experiencing power outages and I didn't want to risk the pc. I like what SL gives us and I'm going to be there more. But I think I want a different avatar. I want something that will cater to not only the Uru side of things, but also the publishing. I think I want to rent space for a Myst area and a library. Publish both magazines and books in the library for people to read. I have Ms. Isis, Elpis, Fachia, Sophrosyne, and Dae Randoran (male) for Uru avvies. My magazines are for ghost stories and scifi/fantasy. Our publishing portal is Sidhe Press. Any ideas on what avvie name I should use? | |

| I quite sure you won't be able to pick your last name but it would be great if you could be 'Romney Wordsworth'....It was an old Twilight Zone episode about 'In a future totalitarian society, a librarian is declared obsolete and sentenced to death.' with Burgess Meredith...My dad loved him...He played in a lot of things including the 'Rocky' movie series... | |

| That would be so cool... but I bet if I can get it to let me have a chosen name fully, that one must be taken.
Burgess had a wife named Kaja...that name's kind of cool too.

| I've been looking at locations that are available. There's two I like so far. One is in Tokatah alley in the cavern...right at the link in spot. The other is with Eder Gira...close to Myst Island...the round apartment.
I haven't asked to see what's available in Eder D'ru yet...probably spelled that wrong - I have a huge sinus headache going on and it hurts to think about the simplest of things.
Those are my first choices anyways. Looking at choosing and renting a space starting in Feb or March, so there's still time to look around. I will be in there more. My laptop is in need of serious upgrading before it can be a reliable work computer so I can use this one for drizzle and such. That probably won't happen until summer.
Maybe I'll get lucky and can get a ipod touch between now and then too...Evidently Myst did well enough for them to proceed with Riven for the iphone too. cool!

| I like that! Anarta (think I have that spelled wrong...seems like letters are missing) also has some spaces available in the Myst area. 400 prims I think. That would be a good name for a small area to use there. Not sure if I'd go for an area by myself though. I know nothing about terraforming...I'd have to have a partner for that. With renting a building I can just buy and place items in it...perhaps make a few items myself.
I could write the story for Eder D'ryt though...we do need our next exploration for the FoF team.

| I changed my look in Second Life, just so you know. I still have the pony tail, but don't have the "elf" outfit anymore. | |

| Happy New Year everyone! Remember, don't drink and link!
I have a day full of running around and then I think we're enjoying a quiet New Year's Eve at home. I may check in at SL. Either to visit or reminisce.

| Looks like I'll rent a place in Anarta's area sometime. The apartment buildings are 200 prims, while the land is 400 prims. I like the apartments...just wonder if they'd be too small. I have found where others have built buildings that you can purchase. Found a tree house that would work - two actually. And a channel wood house. It would take up 1/2 the space, then the other 1/2 could be an outdoor area.
I am taking my time on this and waiting to see how things play out with the increased costs causing many sims to close down. Some have been enjoying another sim area like SL that's more reasonably priced. But it's open source, I believe, and so it may not be a good option for me.
Renting on a weekly or monthly basis allows me to keep the price down and able to back out if something goes wrong with the SL Uru community.
Finding a new home is proving a challenge...

| I did it. I was bummed by more snow and blizzardly wind in the area, so I played with SL more. Also chatted to some old friends in there while decorating. I rented apartment 27 on Eder Gira. Go past the waterfall of Eder Gira and across the bridge and you'll find the apartments between the side lagoons and the Eder Tsogal like area. First building is a store, second building is another apartment, and mine's the third building.
Actually more room in 200 prims than I thought there would be. Right now there's just a few things in it. I still have to get some book shelves and more URU art work. Looked around for a Myst carpet for sale. Really wanted a Yeesha Symbol on the floor, but didn't find one. This shell design is the closest I could get.
It's not the one closest to Myst Island as I first wanted. But I went with this so I could hang stuff. The other two available don't have full sides, but open air screened in type of sides. I still have to ask Anarta about rules of using the front patio and roof top. I'll make more seating and hang out area if I can use them.
Now I need to find someone to make me some stuff from our bevin and Fof.

Decided to stay as Issis Ceriano in SL. Feel free to friend me.

| More playing...almost have everything I need in room. Just a few more pictures to hang up and a few book cases to add. Also may add Sharper's fish tank next month.

| Couldn't find the journey symbols, so I made them myself. Also hung a copy of the OneLastStand Fissure party. For big pictures, I'm pretty much done. Will probably made a D'ni themed rug to replace the two plain ones and some posters or fliers telling visitors about our websites.
Like with the online version of the game, I've started sitting in there during writing time. Either in the apartment, where I can still hear the outside noises, or on top of Tsogal where I can hear those noises and the bahro. It's really helping me forget my frustration at all this snow and cold and properly focus on work again.
Except when the roads drift over and hubby has to stay home. For some reason he can't hook up on the wireless, so I can't be online while he is working from home. Hope that's fixed soon.
