Because of my troubles when playing during the times when a lot of people are online, I chose to play my unsociable avatar this weekend.

BUT ...

Is it true that you have to have a second person to get to Ahnonay 4? Or is there another way?

If there must be another, that bites. I don't mind and really enjoy playing with others, but often I have reasons to have to get my players through the game alone.

(corrected for name - duh! - really had me frustrated I guess - LOL)

Talked to more people. Seems it's a must. Bummer. My internet is working better than it has in a long time, but still a little iffy with all the linking in and out.

So, I'll get everyone a book in Relto, and next weekend find a buddy for me and get through ahnonay.

(Dedhed, please move this ... was a little unsure where this would have belonged ... or just delete it since I've found my answer.)

I think its OK here. I'm pretty sure this is our Spoilers forum, anyway.

Really, you need a second person?!? Huh! Odd that a bit of co-op play i being forced on those who may not want that.

I got along pretty far with only one person. I did seem to reach an impasse, however, but don't recall seeing anything that made me think, "hmmmm. I need another person here!"

Did you get to 4? Without that second switch in the tower, I've been trying to work it the same way just by going to the book on the island instead.

Supposedly, you need a person cuing the change to four with the book on the island, while you stay at the door in three.

Plus they say you need another person later on.

I'm bummed because I like replaying things alone sometimes to relax and refresh my memory on things. I really thought they would have it set up to where you could have buddies with you or not.

Thats odd, because I thought the worlds won't change as long a there are more then 1 living thing in the age. Which is why you have to chase off all the crabs in "Water" Ahnonay, and destroy those crystal trees in "Misty" Ahonay, before the worlds will rotate. 2 explorers in an Age would work against that.

Something about the person in the tunnel is not picked up ... met a few people who claimed they got it to work. One said the tunnel person needs to stay by the door though, so maybe something blocks the radar.

It may also be that the living thing has to be *on the island* to be detected - after all, quabs pushed into water presumably remain in the water. I imagine they can swim!

I'm not overly impressed to learn that you need a second person either.

Was sorta bummed that help is mandated for somethings since, I like going through an age and working it out, the thing is help is needed more than once.
Which can make it kinda difficult if you're not the social type or happen to be playing when no one you know is on-line,

But it's a small thing so everybody enjoy this may be all we have for a while.

You will find a lot of hints in GUIDES under Ahnonay (hints and Altercor's behind-the-scenes) but this is where you can speculate all you like.

I like the idea of some team work and camaraderie to complete an age. Tsogal and Delin were a brilliant design concept to get folks used to solo play to work together to accomplish a goal. The need for help in both Ahnonay and in Ercana is much less involved that opening the eder doors -- and we are champs at those.

The only trouble right now is that the system is laggy and crashing, often at inconvenient times. Take a deep breath, be patient and persistent, and remember never to ascribe to ill intent what could otherwise be blamed on technical problems.

It is my hope that we will be doing this for a very long time to come, helping others as they come into the Cavern, so we are the pioneers learning how these new ages work and developing the skills to guide others.

I figure there's at least two months to play around before anything major again, so I don't mind waiting a week or so.

Also figure that I can be my social-self and complete the age with a buddy and then can share the age my other hermit-like "family" members. Not the same as completing the ages, but there's always time later on to buddy up.

I'm just a rebel... dislike it immensely when I'm told "you have to do this" and not given a choice.

Seems I have rebellious quabs too. LOL Kick two off at beginning and they float in the water, and they are back on the land by the time I get to the last one. Think I've had to go back twice so far!

(Those are the first ones I'm trapping!)

LOL, I agree ms isis, just hate being told what I must do as for the crab problem, kick hard and fast, don't let those buggers cling to the edges or they are sure to return real fast.

Too bad we don't have a good 'Kick' emote.

Hey Dedhed and Atheni ... those roars are louder this morning and in more places. People in city are calling it growling.

At first I thought maybe it was an echo from the deeper bahro talk, but I'm sorry to say that thought is wrong.

Great! I was getting creeped out enough from the echoing cries of the flock around the Arch.

The bahro sounds were particularly strong yesterday on the path to the library - I don't know if it was the echo or what, but you could hear the multitude of different types of cries so clearly. It sounded like when you go into one of the bahro caves in the first four ages. I wonder if there's an open bahro cave somewhere in Dni?

Uh, oh

Ms. Isis, and anyone else who's in the city today - please keep us poor souls, who are unable to be there, informed as to what's going on. Many Thanks!

I've got to go to work for a few hours, but I'll be back in the cavern when I return. I should work a full day today, but just can't with all this going on and actually being able to participate. LOL Leave it to me to not actually be internet functional enough until the season finale.

Linking book to Myst in K'veer
A relto page (fireplace)
and maybe another thing or two ... I was reading a little fast and hurrying to put everything away so I can get home.

Only to be booted out when I try to get in. GRR! I will keep trying and will try to relay reports when I do get in ... cause I know better than to try making my way there myself while this is going on! LOL

Our Great Zero stained glass changed. We have one of the alternates instead. I really like it!
