--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Edar Gira is the most beautiful and infuriating age I've ever visited. It is now also haunted by the ghost of Eniad Corlet.
I was wandering around Edar Kemo looking for Maintainer Markers. I happened by a swarm of fireflies, and decided I'd like some company while I studied the marker. It's under the hanging willows. The willow is not effective cover from the rain. I gathered another group of fireflies and realized I'd never really played much with them after being so frustrated by them. Now seemed like a good time. The fireflies will abandon you if you run or jump, but what about sitting? So I /sat. To my surprise, they continued to buzz around me. Do they mind dancing? Let me tell you, there are few things more amusing than a slightly rotund bald man dancing while being orbited by lightning bugs. Ever more curious, I wanted to see what fireflies and dancing looked like in the dark.
Ever so slowly I walked to the Edar Gira linking book. Gently placed my had upon the book and I arrived. I eased away from the vent that had thwarted me so many times. With the utmost caution I crossed the bridges I spent hours setting just right. I eased my self, fireflies and all up the ramp to that steam lamp that I took so long to find. Quietly I turned out the light. And then I danced...
Several KI pictures later, I realized no one would be able to tell what I was doing there in the dark surrounded by glowing dots. At least not from the back. Who would be willing to take my picture during such a silly endevor? Well, probably everyone in the cavern, but it was two in the morning. The only person on was Illuvatar. A PM and an invite later, Illuvatar headed through the Nexus to my Edar Gira.
I stayed in the cave to wait, not wanting to disturb my crate bridge. Illuvatar linked into the age, jumped over the wall to the waterfall area, looked around for a moment, ran to the linking book, and linked into Edar Kemo. A minute later he PMed me asking, "Where are you?" I told him I was behind the waterfall. And he was back on his way. Maybe if I moved to further out from underneath the waterfall, he would see me. Of course my hours of work on the bridge went to waste as I shifted the whole thing, fell in the water and lost my cloud of friends. Luckily Illuvatar arrived at the waterfall and helped me put the crates back in place so we can walk across them. This took about fifteen minutes. Once we are happy the crates would stay when I walked across them I linked back to Edar Kemo to collect more fireflies. Halfway between the grove of trees and the linking book, it rained. Finally I got the bugs and enough time to link back to Edar Gira.
Now this is when things get interesting. From my perspective, I walked from the link in point, across the bridges, up the ramp to the steam light, and turned it off. What Illuvatar saw was totally different. A pack of fireflies linked into Edar Gira. The fireflies drifted toward the waterfall. When they passed the first bridge, it moved and splashed in the water! They wandered around the cave for a moment, occasionally traveling toward him. A bit strange to be sure. But as an intrepid explorer Illuvatar followed these fireflies to see what they might do. They headed up the ramp and the light started flashing on and off. He had no idea what was going on. No one was on his age memebers list but some crazed voice was telling him, "Take a picture of me dancing." The whole time he was very quiet. In most appropriate use of an emote I have seen, he stood there with his mouth hanging open. Then when he tryed to walk away, the fireflies chased him asking where he was going!
I was laughing and acting the fool and having a great time, while poor Ill thought I was the ghost of Hamlet's father come to haunt him. It took a few more minutes of confusion and talking before I even realized he could not see me. After linking in and out several time, it apeared the link was robbing me of my body. Illuvatar tried to link back in fro the Nexus to no avail, I still was ethereal.
While this went on, Illuvatar had to share with his friend, Nebolin, what was happening. Illuvatar told him, "trying to figure out what's going on with an invisible guy." To Illuvatar's amazement, his buddy replied, "Eniad?" Freaky stuff.
Eventually Illuvater linked back into my Gira for a fourth time, and I had returned to my body. His buddy saw the line "From Illuvatar in Eniad Corlet's Edar Gira:" That's how he knew it was me. So the strange events of the night were thankfully over. Someday I will get some pictures of me dancing in the dark with fireflies. But I don't think Illuvatar will be visiting Edar Gira anytime soon, at least not with me.

Oh, Eniad, I laughed and laughed! How funny, and how well told!
I myself have had times during Uru that I've been having SO MUCH FUN, it's amazing. If anyone had told me an on-line game could be so much pure, innocent fun, I don't think I would have believed them. And having our homies to share it all with is priceless!
Keep Dancing, all of us!!!!!

Eniad, this is hilarious, I'm sitting here trying to picture you danicing with the fireflies and Ill looking like what the heek.
Only you could have such and innocent experiment turn into something so oohhh I don't know. If only there was a video I'd send it in to some TV show and claim first prize. Please continue to share with us "The Adventures of Eniad and Company".
Thanks yu made my day

That's just too funny/awesome a story!!
You're a really great storyteller.
You know...I wonder if it's possible to bring fireflies into the Bevin. They might make for a great Ghost in the D'ni version of Hamlet!

Great story Eniad, i can just imagine it. Funny stuff.
You can bring the firefiles to your Relto, they only live for a day but its cool to see them flying around the island.
