 Age creation projects

It has been a two year wait and I have to admit I was one of the growing group of pessimist that thought MOUL would NEVER come back online again. Well here we are again..but are we going to make it? Without new content drawing in new explorers there will be no growth and donations to support the servers will eventually dwindle. Cyan can't afford to provide that new content so it will be up to us. They promised us the source codes but it is unknown when (or if) we will actually get them. Rolling Eyes Meanwhile we have a wonderfully diverse and talented group of people in our bevin and we can make incredible ages. I want to encourage everyone to start thinking about what kind of ages they would like to see. Age creation is a process (one I'm still learning) it takes time but the cool thing is everyone can contribute in some way, there are needs for creating storylines, concept art, modeling and many other areas. There are also a plethora or resources available such as Wiki and GOW on how to build. In the near future when more of us reunite in the cavern I hope to see us of sitting around the firemarbles just thinking of wonderful things to put in our ages. We can do this. Cool

I agree Atheni, without user content people will leave again and new people will get bored.

I dug up my RAD contest Age I made over a year ago. I tweaked it a lot after the contest and I really want to get it finished. I have another Age I just started working on after the announcement of MOULagain.

We have a created group and I'm sure we can come up with great Ages for explorers to see.

Maybe we could setup a forum area for Bevin Ages projects. We can use it for collaboration, showing off pictures and feedback.

I don't have the graphics know-how and sadly, no time to get to learn it. But I'm creating Ages in novel/story format. Gandhar was the only one helping me with graphics for the M'nine novel.

I've just finished writing in the edits on the novel. If someone would like to team up with me and build the Age according to the novel, that would be great.

Hopefully in a week or two I'll have the novel ready. Depends on how quickly I can type the edits in. I'll even send the person a physical copy of the novel.

Through the Friends of the Fissure, we will continue to create what we can.

A separate area would be a good idea SeanMc somewhere close to the top of the page..lol. I find that post made in the lower sections don't get read. Wink Ms Isis we need writers like you! I hope to have a section where stories lines and ideas can be posted. I'm depending on most of the 'gang' will make it back to the cavern (I think last count was close to 100+) and one can decide on what projects to they want to work on.. if they are interested of course. I think a lot people are just intimated by the technical aspects of age creation and rightly so. Blender has a high learning curve..I quit it twice before I got 'hooked'. But I thought.. a cool way to get people involved would have our wordsmith pitch their stories around the fire marbles, it would be a excellent opportunity to solicit help for age creation Cool

I did hear that the last version has a lot easier learning curve.

My problem is that I'm learning two new software programs for my job now, a book coming out in January, and so much other things going on that all my "free" time is spent with SL and MOUL now - and I don't want that to change. LOL

While I'm in SL, I'm learning building, so I could build something in SL. But not for quite some time.
