If you like the tv series, Monk, you'll love the book. Written by one of the screenwriters, Lee Goldberg, it's a hoot! Dr. Kroger goes to a conference in Germany and Monk follows him because he's unable to go without his three times a week sessions. It's fun reading how a small German town that would charm any of us really gets to Monk with the cobblestone streets and uneven houses.
Inside you learn about his fear of the one-legged cannibal living next door to him, the true secret of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, as deduced by Monk, how taking a German plane from Lohr to Berlin is different than in America, and what Playboy magazine has to do with it, and how dangerous it is to chase a man with six fingers. And how tough Natalie really is.
Lee writes the book in first person, in Natalie's voice. Does a wonderful job of capturing her tone and personality.
Lee Goldberg is also on facebook - he has a group for the Monk Books, Natalie and Monk, Diagnosis Murder, and Murder She Wrote.
