Can we talk? Using the Chatbox

We now have a chatbox right here on the forum and I would love to see it being used, to talk like we used to. I am willing to set a time when I will be online every week for a specific time, but when I did this before no one ever showed up so after about 4 months I gave up.

But I never gave up on you so let's try this again. Can we come up with a schedule when two or more can be online in the chatbox at the same time? I realize that we have the same problems of timing as we did in MOUL with folks spanning the globe. However, I am around most of the time and can divide my time between the US and Europe.

I have no head for numbers and can not calculate time zones without a KI, so the poll times are based on my time (US East Coast). You are welcome to translate and post what these times mean to your TZ. The list in the poll are only suggestions, but I can only host just so often. We need other hosts, in particular in other time zones. The poll is multiple choice so you can pick any and all that please you.

Once I hear back from enough folks I will set up a schedule that will most likely be for at least two weekday evenings and one weekend afternoon. Of course, there will be changes from time to time to cover appointments, travel, etc. I will try to post notices of my absence in advance and get another to host during my slot.

Think of this as having your very own radio call-in show, but without the bad language and the acrimony.

Right now I feel safe committing to Sundays... might have to experiment and see what works - I have a lot of teleseminars and webinars I do during the week. (Getting ready to attend one now, actually.)

With the busy life a reminder the day or two before wouldn't hurt. I try hanging post it notes on the monitor, but still tend to miss things.

I'm in a different timezone, so i don't know what times those are for me :\

Inanna is EST - so that's the zone she's using in the poll.

If I read the chart right, your time is seven hours later than Inanna.

Ok. Sti'in, my dear one. But that weekend 2-4pm is still in US EST time, so that would mean you are up 5-7 hours EARLIER to catch the chat. Perhaps you would like to host your own chat in your TZ -- the Voice of Myss Terries in the Netherlands

I'm very confused.

I used the online timezone converter just now and it said Sti'in will have to add six hours to Inanna time. (Using the format Days:Hours:Minutes and giving me 00:06:00, with instructions to add that amount.)

If that's the case Sti'in's time to be in chat for the 2-4pm session on a Sunday, would mean that Sti'in would have to check in at 8-10 pm on Sunday Sti'in time.

If this converter is right, the chats in Sti'in time are:
Monday or Wednesday Evenings 8-10pm
Wednesday or Friday Evenings 1-3am
Monday 8-10pm & Thursday 1-3am
Wednesday 1-3am & Thursday 8-10pm
Tuesday 1-3am & Wednesday 8-10pm

The really sad thing is that I have a bright postit note on the side of my monitor that says Myss Terrie's Chat Sunday 1-3 pm (for my time). It's been there since we first talked about the chat!

I'll try to remember to post here as to whether I can make it on schedule. Things are hopping right now. Daughter is ready to have baby any day. (She said a bad thing to me when I said she'll have her on Friday - the day that Twilight opens in theaters. LOL She's been waiting forever for that movie to come out.) And she visits Sunday - may drag me out to the theater for that movie sometime too.

The other hoppin' stuff is rush, rush to prepare for an unplanned occurrence. I was supposed to have a table at a Christmas Fair Sunday, but now I don't know if I'll have time.
