Sorry to have been away for a bit, but I have been very busy. I am writing an historical novel which is always an emotionally taxing job for me. I get to liking my characters, but because this is history in the end they must die -- and this being about the Civil War they will mostly die young and unluckily.

Also it is coming time for my elder niece Erin's birthday and I am making my annual dress extravaganza of silk and lace and ribbon and all manner of Victorian excess.

But I try to stop in from time to time, to see how all are doing. Brad and Liz (caver1 and Cave Woman) stopped by on a visit. They are so far the only bevin folks I have met on the surface, but I am thinking that we should try to plan a get-together for at least the mid-Atlantic folks. You know where you are relative to the DC area. Let's pick a time and a place and at least get together for a meal. If we can find a place with WIFI we can log on and chat that way if you feel more comfortable sitting around a computer lounge somewhere. sunny

When the holiday clothes are done for my little girls and I have the book under some sense of control, I will be ready to re-enter the cavern. One thing I need when I spend my days trapped in the hell of the Civil War is an escape. URU would be perfect. My only great regret is that I did not have the chance back in 2003-2005 when I was writing my first book.
