This is a post from our previous sojourn in the Cavern, but the policy remains central to our bevin's interaction with others within the Cavern. Wherever people congregate there will be conflicting opinions. All we ask is that such debates be held out of the hearing of new explorers. If you must express an opinion remember that each of us represents our bevin. If you are helping someone and the chat turns hostile, suggest by PM that you and your friend retire to a less tumultuous location.

Yes, we remain neutral within the bevin courtyard. This is to allow new explorers a chance to figure out how things work within the Cavern before they are forced to deal with matters in context.

However, we are not blind, not silent, not passive. We need to be aware of what is going on around us. We may speak out as the spirit moves on issues that are of importance to us, as individuals or as a group and to take action protecting the established policies and traditions of our bevin.

Bevin policy is that there are no debates in the central area of the bevin when we have guests or new members around. If the bevin has a crowd and some wish to discuss an current issue, then the policy is that those who want to discuss or debate should move either to our instance of Eder Tsogal (if non-members are involved), to the bevin's instance of Gahreesen, or to any private age.

You are most certainly entitled to your observations and your opinions with the above caveat in mind. Your actions, however, should be directed toward keeping the bevin and its diverse membership protected from what many have come to the Cavern to escape. There is conflict enough on the Surface, and some of that will always be present in the Cavern, but with vigilance there will be none inside the bevin that is our home within the Cavern.

Don't worry, Myss Terrie, once I'm able to be there without getting booted off again, that will not be on my mind. Like you said, the bevin is our refuge as well as for new explorers.

You've done an excellent job in giving us a spot on the forum to hash out our thoughts and find sanity and calmness before returning to the cavern, so we can truly enjoy URU. Having different takes on the situation really helps.

Thank You!

We have been trying to get all members of the bevin to register for the forum because so much of our communication happens here. On the forum we do not have to be neutral. We can give voice to all our opinions and are free to disagree -- politely, of course -- with one another.

Hash it all out here then return to the bevin courtyard where there are no such debates. We can splash in the fountain, chat, open doors for friends, guide the new, and ignore everything going on elsewhere.

Your time in the Cavern should be as pleasant as possible and the bevin should be a place where the troubles elsewhere are kept at bay. With us you remain safe.
