Due to unfortunate circumstances - loss of receipts and time lapse between purchasing and opening the packages - I have two games I bought at a store, and cannot return.

Just wondering before I order these online if anyone has played them yet and can let me know if they are definitely worth buying (again). I will be ordering online this time ...

1701 A.D. Gold Edition - I have a feeling that this one is worth it. Has anyone tried it yet?

Sherlock Holmes The Awakened - Anyone tried this one too?

Also, I haven't purchased yet, but am thinking about ordering 1601 A.D. for the Nintendo D.S. It seems to look good in the previews and it's one of my favorite PC games.

Another is SPORE. Hubby was really excited to get this one, but misread the video card requirements, which is above what we have. (Since he's a programmer and knows better he's suffered merciless teasing from me on this. LOL) It's available through the DS too, so I'm interested if anyone's tried it on the DS.

How about Tales of Egypt at http://www.talesofegypt.com?

I'm an Egypt lover so it looks interesting to me - also, it looks like it plays like URU. Not quite as casual, perhaps. Seems you have seven levels of responsibility to get through to get through everything in the game - and like you have to partner with a mentor because the game is so involved. But a lot of the responsibilities sound like things I do anyways in the Myst Online...plus most of the buildings are supposedly player built.

And it's been around for quite a long time.
